VA Tutorial Assistance in Florida: Get Help Paying for Tutoring

VA Tutorial Assistance is available to eligible beneficiaries using Post-9/11 GI Bill educational benefits under 38 U.S.C. § 3315. You must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 15 semester hours for undergraduate, or your school's full-time requirement) at an approved educational institution. Your school must be accredited and approved for VA benefits.

You must also demonstrate academic difficulty. Another frequent denial reason is failure to prove full-time enrollment. To build a stronger initial claim: (1) Request official transcripts showing grades and cumulative GPA that demonstrate academic difficulty; (2) Obtain written confirmation of full-time enrollment from your school's registrar; (3) Submit a detailed tutoring plan approved in writing by your school's VA certifying official; (4) Include the tutor's credentials and rate of pay.
